Thursday 4th Went offWhat a day, started of with a good forecast but when I opened the shop, there was no wind!!. Next thing Carl's in the shop, ' Going out for a sail ?', ' Theres no wind !!', its picked up to the forecast and blowing SE 20kts, tide going out, the days set. We get there it looks good, Ben Arther set up on a 5.3, couple of 9m kites out and we rig up. By the end 5m was the sail size but, it just didn't look that windy!!
I did the usual and over size the sail 6.5, Carl on 5.7, it was awesome, and the sand bar to the east is working pumping up some small 3/4 footer's but glass clean inbetween them. Not mine or Carls best for jumping though ( Port Tack ).
Another thing is the sand bar is moving all over the place and another catapult by Carl as he hits an unexpected sand bar in the middle of the sea!!!, can't quite work out how its working but its making a nice reef effect out there so no complaints from me!.
And, its not that cold, 9 degrees, but at one point I took off the hood and sailed bare head, so get your self down here to Exmouth and check out the sand bars.
Good to see Giles sciving off work for a cheeky little sail, and its also good to see nearly double figures of windsurfers out there.
